How to sell faster on Vinted

The Relisto team12 min read

Short answer

Selling faster on Vinted is a sequence, not a single listing. Prepare the item, take clear photos, write a precise title and description, set a market price, enable several shipping options, then ship quickly. Payment arrives after the order is complete, not when the item sells.

If you want to know how to sell faster on Vinted, start with the honest answer. Speed isn’t a button. It’s a sequence.

An item sells when the preparation, the photos, the price, the shipping options and the messages form one chain. When one link is weak, views don’t turn into orders.

This guide follows that chain from start to finish. It covers preparing the item, creating the listing, setting the price, publishing, getting the first views, answering buyers, shipping, getting paid and handling problems. It’s written for private sellers in the UK. Business sellers have extra duties, which our Vinted Pro guide explains.

The rules and timings here come from the Vinted UK help pages and the UK Terms. They were checked on 3 November 2026. The links are in the Sources section.

Before you list: prepare the item

Start by choosing what you sell. A clean, complete and well measured item has an easier time. A stained, incomplete or badly photographed item needs more messages and sells more slowly.

Check the catalogue rules before you take photos. Some items aren’t allowed, and a listing can be hidden if it breaks the rules. It’s better to know before you spend an hour on photos.

Prepare the item as if you were sending it to a friend. Wash or clean what can be cleaned, iron the clothes, and check fastenings and seams. Measure the length, the width and the inside leg where it matters. These measurements prevent half of the questions.

Take photos before you put the item away. Daylight near a window gives a truer colour than the yellow light of a room. A plain background, a light wall or a plain sheet is enough. Frame the whole item, then add the label, the material and the flaws.

How many photos should you take? Vinted accepts up to 20 photos per listing. Five to eight well chosen photos are enough for a simple piece. A front photo, a back photo, the label, the material and the flaws cover the basics.

Create a clear listing

A clear listing follows the Vinted form. Each field has a role, and an empty field costs clicks.

FieldWhat to put
PhotosThe whole item, the label, the material and the flaws
TitleBrand, item type, model, size and colour
DescriptionMaterial, measurements, condition, flaws and what is included
CategoryThe most precise category
BrandThe real brand, or “No brand”
SizeThe size on the label, not the size you hope for
ConditionThe real condition, with no rounding up
PriceA price that fits the market
Parcel sizeA size that fits the packed parcel

What should the title say? The title needs the words buyers type. A simple formula works: brand, item type, model or material, size and colour.

“Levi’s 501 blue jeans W28” is found. “Nice jeans” isn’t.

The description answers questions before they’re asked. State the material, the measurements, the condition, the flaws and what’s included. If the item has a mark, show the mark and describe it. Vinted asks sellers to show flaws in the photos and mention them in the description.

Choose the most precise category. An item filed under “Home” instead of “Cushions” falls out of the filters buyers use. The brand and the size matter for the same reason. If the item has no brand, select “No brand”.

Be honest about the condition. An item described as “very good” that arrives with a hole costs a return, a refund and a poor review. Vinted publishes condition definitions, and it says to choose the lower condition when you’re unsure. An accurate description protects your time and your reputation.

The parcel size changes the shipping price. Take a moment to choose the right size before you publish. A size too small blocks the label, and a size too large makes the buyer pay more. The exact limits depend on the carrier, so check them on the Vinted page for the parcel size.

Vinted doesn’t allow two identical listings. If you have several of the same item, create one listing and state the quantity in the description. For different sizes or colours, add photos of the labels and different angles.

A recently published item can go through an automated check. Vinted says it usually takes up to 1 minute, but it can take 3 or 4 days. During the check you can’t hide or delete the listing. Wait for it to finish rather than create a duplicate.

Set the price

Price is the most direct lever. Should you lower it? Not always. Vinted gives a range that depends on the condition of the item.

Item conditionVinted suggested price
New or like new60% to 80% of the retail price
Very good40% to 60% of the retail price
Good or satisfactory20% to 40% of the retail price

These percentages are a starting point, not an absolute rule. Look at similar listings in the catalogue, then compare your price with them. Vinted says a price below the catalogue average can help an item sell faster.

Think about the season. A winter coat in July will sit, even at a fair price. A discount can help an item that’s out of season, but it doesn’t create demand.

Set a floor price before you publish. Leave a little room to answer offers, without going below that floor. A price that falls too far just to move the item is a sale you’ll regret.

The allowed range is £1 to £30,000. You can change the price after publication. A price drop notifies your followers, which can restart interest in an item that already has favourites.

Publish and pass the check

Publish the listing, then check that it appears in your wardrobe. The automated check can hold it for a minute or a few days. That’s normal, and it isn’t a reason to create the listing again.

If the listing is hidden or removed, read the reason before you act. A copied photo, an incorrect brand or a duplicate are common causes. Fix the point that was flagged, then repost if the item is allowed. Don’t create a second listing to get around the check.

An active listing can be edited at any time. You can change the photos, the title, the description, the category, the brand, the size, the condition and the price. An edit doesn’t create a new listing and doesn’t reset the views.

Get the first views

Why does a listing get no views? A published listing isn’t a seen listing. Vinted uses several parameters to rank items, including the time since upload, the interactions, the price, the photos, the condition, the listing frequency and the filters a buyer applies.

Start with the profile. A photo, a message in the About section and a verified profile build trust. Vinted also recommends several shipping options. The more choices a buyer has, the more likely they can order.

Publish regularly. Vinted says new items can help you gain followers, and followers get a notification when you publish or lower a price.

Answer favourites. If a buyer favourites your item or asks a question, you can send an offer. A reasonable offer sometimes turns interest into an order. Stay on the platform and never share your bank details.

For paid visibility, Vinted offers the Bump and Showcase. A Bump puts one listing higher in newsfeeds and search results for 3 or 7 days, or until it sells. Showcase highlights up to 15 listings for 7 days and requires at least 5 items in your wardrobe. The price is shown at checkout.

These services help you be seen. They don’t guarantee a sale. If the item is badly photographed or too expensive, a Bump doesn’t fix the problem.

Answer and negotiate

Answer quickly and precisely. A question about a measurement or a material deserves a number, not a vague reply. If you don’t know the answer, take the measurement and come back to the buyer.

Offers are part of the platform. You can accept, refuse or propose a middle price. Set your floor before the conversation and don’t go below it under pressure. A sale at a loss isn’t a good sale.

For several items, suggest a bundle. Vinted offers a discount for buyers who order more than one item. One parcel costs less and arrives faster.

Don’t leave the platform. A buyer who asks for a bank transfer, a payment link or a hand delivery outside Vinted exposes you to a loss. Vinted payment protects the buyer and the seller, and it leaves a record of the order.

Ship the item

The buyer pays, then Vinted generates a shipping label. The shipping option the buyer chose can’t be changed after the sale. Check your shipping settings before you publish, not after the order.

How should you pack the item? Pack it as if the parcel has to survive a journey. Use sturdy packaging that fits the item. Fill the empty space with bubble wrap or paper.

Seal the parcel with strong tape. Stick the label flat on the largest side with the barcode fully visible.

Take photos of the item and the parcel before you send them, inside and outside. Vinted recommends this. If the buyer reports a problem on delivery, the photos help resolve the dispute.

Check the parcel size and the carrier limits. Vinted suggests a size when you list, but you still need to measure the item and the packaging. The exact size and weight limits depend on the carrier. A parcel that’s too large or too heavy can be refused at the drop off point.

Drop off the parcel within the stated time and keep the proof of drop off. If the carrier or Vinted asks for information, reply with the label and the photos of the parcel.

Don’t use a different label or a different shipping option. Vinted says the order can be cancelled automatically if the wrong label or option is used.

Get paid

When does the payment arrive? It doesn’t arrive at the moment of the sale. The buyer pays, and Vinted holds the amount until the transaction is complete.

The order is complete when the buyer presses “Everything is OK”, or 2 days after delivery if the buyer doesn’t confirm and doesn’t report a problem. You then receive the payment within 2 days. The amount moves from “Pending balance” to “Available balance” in your Vinted balance.

You can then transfer the money to your bank account. For an order from a Pro seller, the order is complete 14 days after delivery because of the buyer’s right of withdrawal.

Never ask for a direct payment to speed up the process. The delay protects both sides. A buyer who pays outside the platform has no protection, and you have no proof of the order.

After the sale

A completed sale isn’t always the end. The buyer can leave a review, ask a question or report a problem. Reply with the facts, the photos and the label.

If the item isn’t as described, the buyer can ask for a return and a refund. Vinted has a process and a time limit for this. Stay on the platform and follow the process.

A problem resolved quickly costs less than a dispute that drags on. Keep the photos of the parcel, the label and the messages. These records make the difference when the buyer’s account and yours don’t match.

Mistakes that block sales

  • Dark or incomplete photos. The buyer can’t see the material, the colour or the flaw, so they move to the next listing.
  • A vague title. “Nice jumper” isn’t found. The brand, the type, the size and the colour are found.
  • The wrong category. The item falls out of the filters buyers use. The most precise category is always the better choice.
  • A price that’s too high. Price is one of the ranking parameters. A price above the market reduces clicks, even with good photos.
  • Missing measurements. A question without an answer is a lost sale. Add the measurements to the description.
  • Ignored messages. A buyer who waits for a reply can buy elsewhere. Answer within the day when you can.
  • Duplicates. Vinted doesn’t allow two identical listings. A duplicate can be hidden.
  • A relist loop. Relisting the same item every week doesn’t create demand. The Vinted Terms prohibit deleting and relisting the same item multiple times, or many items in bulk.

A 7 day plan

A 7 day plan to sell faster on Vinted, from the profile and photos to relisting old items

Sources: Vinted help/375, help/376, help/57 and help/447, checked 3 November 2026. This is a guide, not a Vinted rule.

  • Day 1. Complete the profile, verify your identity and add an About section. Prepare 10 items and take the photos.
  • Day 2. Publish 5 listings. Take care with the title, the description and the price. Enable several shipping options.
  • Day 3. Publish 5 more listings. Check the categories and the parcel sizes.
  • Day 4. Answer questions and send an offer to buyers who favourited an item.
  • Day 5. Review the listings with no views. Change the first photo or the title, then lower the price if the item is above the market.
  • Day 6. Publish a few more items. An active wardrobe gives people a reason to return.
  • Day 7. Review the week. Keep what works, fix what blocks, and relist only the items that are genuinely old. For the procedure, read our guide to relisting on Vinted. For the right moment, read how often to relist on Vinted.

How Relisto fits

Relisto is a Chrome extension for Vinted sellers. It doesn’t sell visibility and doesn’t promise more sales. It handles the relist of old items when the wardrobe becomes too large to manage by hand.

Relisto works in this order. It keeps a copy of the listing, prepares the new one, waits for Vinted to validate it, then removes the old one. It also handles schedules, price rules with a floor and a ceiling, and stops the queue when Vinted asks for a verification.

It doesn’t replace the basics. Clear photos, a precise title and a fair price remain the base. Relisto helps when those basics are in place and volume becomes the problem.

You can see the workflow on the features page and the plans on the pricing page. Relisto hasn’t been tested on a Vinted Pro account, so we don’t promise compatibility with Pro accounts.

Questions about this article

How long does it take to get paid for a sale on Vinted?

An order is complete when the buyer presses 'Everything is OK', or 2 days after delivery if the buyer doesn't confirm and doesn't report a problem. Vinted then takes 2 days to move the amount from 'Pending balance' to 'Available balance'. A Pro seller order is complete 14 days after delivery because of the buyer's right of withdrawal.

Should I offer several shipping options?

Yes. Vinted says more shipping options can help items sell faster. Some options can't be disabled. Check your settings before you publish, because the buyer's choice can't be changed after the sale.

What price should I set for a second hand item?

Vinted suggests 60% to 80% of the retail price for new or like new items, 40% to 60% for very good condition, and 20% to 40% for good or satisfactory condition. Check similar listings and the season. The allowed range is £1 to £30,000.

Why is my Vinted listing not getting views?

Check the first photo, the title, the category and the price. A dark photo, a vague title or a broad category can keep the item out of searches. Add several shipping options and publish regularly. If the item is old and quiet, a relist may help, but it doesn't create demand.

Should I relist an item that isn't selling?

Not automatically. Improve the photos, title, description and price first. A relist creates a new listing and loses the views and favourites on the old one. The Vinted Terms also prohibit deleting and relisting the same item multiple times, or many items in bulk.

Tired of doing this by hand? Relisto relists your items automatically, with a backup first so nothing is lost. Try it free for 7 days.
