How to get more views on Vinted
Editing a Vinted listing doesn't make it rise. Here's what actually changes views, what each option costs, and when a relist is the wrong move.
Short answer
Vinted Pro is free and reserved for registered businesses: sole traders, charities and companies. It allows unlimited second hand listings and adds a Pro badge, but it also brings 14 day returns, visible business details, mandatory product information and tax duties. You need business documents and KYC checks to register.
Vinted Pro is free, and that’s the first thing most sellers hear. The second thing is that it changes how you sell. A Pro account is for registered businesses, and it comes with returns, visible business details, product information and tax duties that a private seller does not have.
This guide explains what Vinted Pro is, who can register in the UK, what changes on your listings, and what it really costs. It also covers the part most guides skip: what Pro status means when you relist at volume.
It’s general information, not legal or tax advice. Vinted’s own terms and GOV. UK are the sources to check for your situation.
Vinted Pro is Vinted’s professional selling service. Vinted says it’s entirely free, and that a Pro seller can list as many second hand items as they like at no cost. The account gets a Pro badge on the profile and on item pages, and it can run alongside a standard account.
The account isn’t a different marketplace. The buyers are the same, the catalogue is the same, and the search results are the same. What changes is your status, your obligations and the information buyers can see.
Vinted describes Pro as the route for sellers who want to sell a high volume of items, more than just clearing out a closet. In practice, it’s for sole traders, charities and registered companies that treat resale as a business.
Vinted accepts three types of seller in the UK: sole traders, charities and registered companies. Each type provides a different set of documents.
| Seller type | What Vinted asks for |
|---|---|
| Sole trader | National Insurance Number, VAT number if you have one, business representative details, business address, identity document, bank details |
| Charity or registered company | Business representative details, registered business name, business address, Tax Identification Number, Business Registration Number, Trade Register where it applies, identity document, bank details |
| All sellers | KYC and KYB documents, profile details, a request to withdraw any existing balance |
The identity checks aren’t optional. Vinted uses them to confirm who is behind the account, and it can ask for more information later if something looks incomplete. If you don’t cooperate, Vinted can restrict the account.
You can keep a standard account and open a separate Pro account. Use a different email address and phone number for each. Vinted allows only one Pro account.
There’s a catch when you convert an existing account. Vinted says you can’t convert while you have orders in progress and money in your balance. Wait until every order is complete and the balance is withdrawn to your bank account. A new Pro account stays unusable until those conditions are met.
Vinted can also ask you to register as a Pro seller if it has information showing that you meet the criteria. This is the “forced Pro” message that appears in seller forums. If you’re a professional, Vinted’s guide says you must declare it, and ignoring the request can lead to a block.
The process is simpler than the documentation suggests, as long as you’ve got the papers ready.
After registration, Vinted adds the Pro badge and creates a new balance for the Pro account. Some details can be changed later, such as the VAT number. Others, such as the Tax Identification Number, require a request to Vinted support.
The practical advice is boring. Use a business email address you check, have your identity document and bank details ready, and clear your standard account balance before you start. Most delays come from a mismatch between the name on the account and the documents, or from an open order that blocks the conversion.
A Pro account changes more than the badge. Vinted’s Pro terms and UK guide set out several obligations that apply to every sale.
| What changes | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Pro badge | Buyers see that you are a business seller |
| Visible details | Your company name, company number, contact details, trade registrar and business address appear on your profile |
| 14 day returns | A buyer can withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days of receiving the item |
| Legal warranties | Buyers have rights if an item is faulty, not as described or does not last |
| Mandatory information | Listings must show the manufacturer, composition, CE marking or other labels where they apply |
| VAT | If you are VAT registered, the listing price must include VAT |
The visible details are the change sellers notice first. Vinted says your company name, company number, contact details, trade registrar and business address are shown on your profile. Sole traders can choose to keep those details private during registration. A company can’t.
The 14 day return right is the change that affects daily work. Vinted’s Pro terms say the buyer can withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days from the day after delivery. If the 14th day falls on a weekend or public holiday, the buyer has until the next working day. The buyer doesn’t need a reason.
Your Additional Policies sit alongside Vinted’s standard Pro terms. You can use them to explain your returns process, your contact details, your complaints procedure and any commercial warranty you offer. You can’t use them to remove a legal right.
Vinted Pro is for second hand goods. The allowed categories are broad, but they aren’t unlimited.
Allowed categories include:
The Pro restrictions are where sellers get caught. Vinted says Pro sellers can’t offer items they made themselves, customisation or made to order items, cosmetics or beauty devices, large numbers of brand new items, items bought in bulk for resale, or low value items sold via dropshipping.
A listing can also be removed for using pictures from the internet or another member, using the same pictures across multiple listings, creating a duplicate listing, or using an incorrect or misleading brand. Those rules apply to private sellers too, but a Pro account has more listings and more chances to break them.
Pro sellers must provide information that private sellers don’t. Vinted’s help page on mandatory information lists the details you need at registration and the extra details you need on certain items.
At registration, expect to provide your full name, legal address, phone number, email address, a copy of your identity document, bank details, Business Registration Number, Trade Register where you are a legal business, National Insurance Number if you are a sole trader, VAT number if you have one, and business representative details.
On the listing, some categories need more. Clothing, shoes, bags and textile accessories need the composition. Some accessories and electrical items need CE marking.
Video games need a PEGI age rating. Batteries and packaging need disposal information. Toys and childcare equipment need safety warnings and CE marking where they apply.
You also need the manufacturer’s name, registered trade name or trademark, and postal and electronic addresses. If the manufacturer is outside the EU, Vinted asks for the details of the economic operator in the EU who is responsible for placing the product on the market.
This is the part that separates a casual seller from a business. A private seller can write a short description and upload a photo. A Pro seller has to know where the item came from and what the label says.
Vinted Pro is free to use. There’s no subscription and no listing fee. The costs are the obligations.
| Cost | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Returns | Refunds, return shipping arrangements and the time to process them |
| Compliance | Product information, manufacturer details, labelling and CE marking |
| VAT | VAT in the price if you are registered, plus returns and records |
| Admin | KYC updates, Additional Policies, complaints and record keeping |
| Stock | Items that do not sell, and the space they take while they wait |
The returns cost is easy to underestimate. A buyer can withdraw within 14 days, and you have to refund within 14 days of receiving the item back. The buyer usually pays return shipping unless your policy says otherwise, but you still lose the sale and the time.
The compliance cost is harder to see. You may need to check labels, photograph CE marks, find manufacturer details and write policies for each category you sell. That work does not appear on an invoice, but it takes time.
VAT is the cost that surprises sellers who grow. If your taxable turnover goes over the threshold, you have to register, include VAT in your prices, submit returns and keep records. That changes your margin on every sale.
The right of withdrawal is the centre of the Pro model. A buyer who purchases online has 14 days from the day after delivery to tell you they want to cancel. They then have another 14 days to return the item. You must refund within 14 days of receiving the item back.
The buyer doesn’t need a reason. You can’t deduct a fee unless the item has been used or damaged. If the buyer paid for standard delivery, you refund that too.
Vinted’s Pro guide also summarises the legal warranties. It says a buyer can get a refund within 30 days if goods are faulty. They can ask for a repair or replacement within 6 months. They can make a claim up to 6 years after purchase, or 5 years in Scotland.
GOV. UK explains the same framework. It says online buyers can cancel within 14 days, that a seller must repair or replace an item returned within 6 months unless the seller can prove it was not faulty, and that a customer has up to 6 years to make a claim, or 5 years in Scotland.
Your Additional Policies can be more generous than the law. They can’t be less generous. If a policy is unclear, Vinted says it’ll be interpreted in the way most favourable to the buyer.
Vinted doesn’t give tax advice, and neither does this page. What you owe depends on your business, your turnover and your circumstances. The useful step is to know where the rules live and to check them before you register.
VAT is the clearest example. GOV. UK says you must register for VAT if your taxable turnover for the last 12 months goes over £90,000, or if you expect it to go over £90,000 in the next 30 days. You can register voluntarily below that level.
If you’re VAT registered, the listing price must include VAT. That changes how you price every item. It also means you need to keep records, submit returns and account for VAT on your sales.
The Vinted Pro guide includes a VAT section, but it says clearly that it’s informational and not tax advice. It directs sellers to HMRC. Use that as a starting point, and speak to an accountant if you’re unsure.
Record keeping matters even below the VAT threshold. Keep your sales, your costs, your receipts and your returns in one place. If HMRC asks a question later, a clean record is the difference between a short reply and a long problem.
Pro sellers relist for the same reason private sellers do. Stock goes stale, views fall, and a new listing can put an item in front of buyers who missed it. The difference is volume. A Pro seller may have hundreds of listings, and a manual relist for each one isn’t realistic.
A relist creates a new listing for the same item and removes the old one. The new listing gets a new upload date. The views and favourites stay on the old listing, so a relist costs you the history of that item.
The Pro terms add a limit. They say a seller must not delete and relist the same item multiple times, or multiple items in bulk. That’s the same rule as the standard Vinted terms, and it applies to Pro sellers. A relist is a decision for a stale item, not a daily loop.
For the cadence, our guide to how often to relist on Vinted covers the decision.
The safe relist order is the same at any volume. Back up the listing, create the new one, check that it is live, then remove the old one. If anything fails, the old listing stays up and nothing is lost. If the item is quiet, our guide to getting more views on Vinted covers the edit and paid options before you delete anything.
Relisto handles that side of the work: backup, create, verify and remove, with schedules, random pauses, a daily cap and a stop when Vinted asks for a verification. It doesn’t sell visibility and it doesn’t promise more views. Bumps and Showcase remain Vinted’s paid services. For a direct comparison, see relisting versus boosting.
One limit matters here. Relisto hasn’t been tested on a Vinted Pro account, so we don’t claim support for Pro sellers. If you run a Pro account and want to use Relisto, contact support before you buy. Don’t assume that a tool built for one account type will work on another.
You can see the workflow on the features page and the plans on the pricing page.
Yes. Vinted says Vinted Pro is entirely free and lets you list as many second hand items as you like at no cost. The real costs are the obligations that come with the status, such as returns, mandatory product information, labelling, VAT if you are registered, and the time it takes to stay compliant.
Vinted accepts sole traders, charities and registered companies in the UK. Sole traders provide a National Insurance Number, a VAT number if they have one, business representative details and a business address. Charities and companies provide a business representative, registered business name, business address, Tax Identification Number and Business Registration Number.
Yes. Vinted's Pro terms require you to let a buyer return an item within 14 days of receiving it. The buyer has a legal right of withdrawal for online purchases, and your Additional Policies cannot take that right away. Vinted's guide also explains the legal warranties that apply to faulty goods.
Yes. You can keep a standard account and open a separate Pro account with a different email address and phone number. You cannot convert a standard account while orders are still open and your balance has not been withdrawn. Vinted allows only one Pro account.
Relisto has not been tested on a Vinted Pro account, so we do not claim support for it. Relisto is built around one Vinted account per licence. If you need it for a Pro account, contact support before you buy rather than assuming it will work.
